The Finale

Sixteen races have come and gone and the championship title will be determined at the double-points season finale held at Sonoma Raceway. Not only will it be the final race of the 2018 season, it is the final Verizon IndyCar Series event held at the 2.385-mile track for the foreseeable future. 

On his first attempt at the 12-turn course, Marco Andretti scored his first career win after starting from the front row. 

When the checkered flag is waved over Sunday’s 85-lap event, the Verizon IndyCar Series will bid farewell to yet another season of thrilling competition from some of the world’s best athletes.

“It’s very important to end our year strong with the double points. We haven’t been finishing where our pace deserves lately. We need to capitalize here especially with it being the last Sonoma Race. It would be cool to get a second win there.”

Welcome back

For the fourth-consecutive year, will join the No. 98 machine of Marco Andretti for the final race of the season, a partnership that began in 2015 at Bryan Herta Autosport and continued through the merge to Andretti Herta Autosport.
