PREVIEW: Grand Prix of Portland

The team is heading west for the penultimate event of the season and the push is on to finish the year strong. The 2019 Grand Prix of Portland will mark just the second year of the Series return to the Pacific Northwest with 105 laps of road course racing a head of us this weekend.

The 2018 outing on the 12-turn circuit left unfinished business for the Andretti-Hertateam. Marco Andretti started inside the top nine, however the fate of the day was not kind to Andretti. The third-generation driver seeks redemption on the 1.964-mile tack after being taken out of last years race in a Lap 1 incident.

“We had a pretty good test at Portland earlier this month and were strong last year in practice and qualifying.  Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to compete as I was caught up in the Turn 2 mess on Lap 1, but we’re looking to redeem ourselves and get a good result for the Oberto / Circle K team.  We need to close the year strong and Portland is the perfect setting.”
