The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is the premier, top-tier sports car racing series in North America, featuring both high-tech prototypes and GT cars. Organized by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), it features 11 events across the U.S. and Canada, combining endurance races—including the Rolex 24 at Daytona—with shorter sprint races.
Key Components of the Championship:

GTD PRO (GT Daytona Pro): Professional teams using FIA GT3 technical regulations.
GTD (GT Daytona): Similar to GTD PRO, but with a mix of professional and amateur drivers.
Key Events: The season is highlighted by major endurance races like the Rolex 24 At Daytona, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, and Motul Petit Le Mans.
Structure: It was formed in 2014 following the merger of the American Le Mans Series and the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.
Technology & Manufacturers: The series features major manufacturer participation, including Cadillac, Porsche, BMW, Acura, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lexus, and Chevrolet. The 2026 season runs from January to October, featuring races such as the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
