FAST FACTS:

Mid Season Review: As we enter the second half of the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season, the BHA Elantra N TCR cars are ranked 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th in the TCR standings. The five-time TCR championship winning team has tallied one victory, two pole positions and eight podium finishes in the first half of the 2024 championship.

By The Numbers: New to BHA in 2024, Denis Dupont and Preston Brown wasted no time acclimating to the #76 Elantra N TCR. They opened the season on the podium at Daytona, finished third at Watkins Glena and are the only team to have won a race this season, having scored their first IMPC victory at Mid-Ohio. Dupont and Brown are ranked second in the #76 Elantra N TCR, 220 points from the lead.

The defending series champions, Robert Wickens and Harry Gottsacker are ranked second. Still looking for their first victory as co-drivers, the #33 Elantra N TCR drivers have finished on the podium three times, scoring two thirds and one second. Gottsacker extended his series record for the most pole positions, when he added two more at Daytona and Sebring. The pair are 90 points behind Dupont and Brown and 310 points behind the championship leaders.

Mark Wilkins and Mason Filippi have enjoyed a lot of success as co-drivers, they won together three times in 2023 but are still searching for their first victory this season. The pair have finished on this podium three times in 2024, with one second and a pair of third place finishes. They are currently ranked fourth, -50 points from the top three.

Taylor Hagler and Bryson Morris are in the middle of their first season as co-drivers and are climbing the speed charts in the #77 Elantra N TCR. Hagler, a two-time IMPC Champion, earned her best qualifying result, fourth, earlier this season at Sebring. The pair ran inside the top-three at Watkins Glen, where they earned their first top-five finish of the season.

Oh Canada: Three of BHA’s eight drivers represent the Maple Leaf flag. Mark Wilkins and Robert Wickens are natives, having grown up within a few hours of CTMP. Denis Dupont hails from Belgium but resides in Montreal.

Not Your Average June: From taking the TCR class victory at the Nürburgring 24, and winning the 4-hour IMPC TCR race at Mid-Ohio, and winning the

exhibition class at Pikes Peak, to finishing second and third at Watkins Glen

and finishing third overall and setting the Electric Modified SUV/Crossover

record and the Electric Production SUV/Crossover record with the IONIQ 5 N, it was an incredibly busy but very successful and rewarding month for Bryan Herta Autosport and our partners at Hyundai.

Calling The Shots: Veteran race engineer Mark Weida joins the #33 team as engineer and strategist. Weida has a storied career in open wheel and sports car racing. He most recently worked on the Pikes Peak program with BHA.

Over $12k So Far: Hyundai Hope On Wheels  has pledged to donate $100 for every lap a Hyundai Elantra N TCR leads during every race of the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season. Roswell Park Oishei Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Program will receive the donation based on laps led this weekend at CTMP. 2024 Season Tally: $12,400 (Daytona: $1200, Sebring: $2100, Laguna Seca $2300, Mid-Ohio 44 and Watkins Glen 22).

Harry Gottsacker: “Robert and I ran really strong at Watkins Glen and we just need to keep pushing in all areas to grab our maiden win together. It’s rewarding to work with everyone on the #33 car because we are all giving it maximum effort and work well together. We are always strong at CTMP, and I know we will have a little Canadian luck on our side.”

Robert Wickens: “CTMP is always a season highlight. Not just because it’s a home race for me, but the track is such a drivers track! I’ve been fortunate to have success here in the past and hopefully we can give the home crowd a great show! The whole #33 team has been building momentum throughout the season, our first win of the year is just around the corner and the is no better place to do it than at home at CTMP.”

It’s a challenging track and racing will be hard; I’m looking forward to the challenge. We are at the halfway point and second in the points, I am very happy with our results so far this season.”

Preston Brown: “This is only my second visit to CTMP, so I’m motivated to race hard. I feel like Denis and I have a good understanding of the car at this point in the season, and my confidence in being able to push my driving capability is growing. The whole team has made a bunch of requested ergonomic improvements between races and now it is up to us to continue to deliver.”

Taylor Hagler: “We are halfway through the 2024 IMPC season and the second half of the season has

been where things have come together for me in the past couple of years. Watkins Glen was a good reset for Bryson and I. We were able to combine for a solid result and drive a clean race. That is what we will focus on carrying through to this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.”

Bryson Morris: “I am super excited to run at CTMP as it will be my first time at this track and even in the country of Canada! The #77 crew has good momentum rolling off our best finish yet last time out. We have shown we can run with the lead group and hopefully a podium result awaits us!”

#98 Elantra N TCR

2024 Best Start: 4th 2024 Best Finish: 3rd (Daytona) 2024 Rank: 4th (1340)

Mason Filippi: “Back to CTMP! Mark and I are looking forward to pushing our Elantra N TCR car to the limit and go for the win. As a team we have been strong but hunting for our IMSA victory. Our car is fast and as a driver you have to be very precise which makes it one of my favorite tracks. Let’s do it! “
Mark Wilkins: “It’s home race week and that means local support and incredible fans! CTMP is fast and has an incredible flow to it; it’s an old school racetrack with endless character. The track really suits our car well and we have had some fantastic race wins here over the years. Our group on the #98 has been knocking on the door of a race win many times this season and we are focused on making that happen heading into the second half. With a Hyundai up front we help raise money for Hyundai Hope on Wheels and I’m hoping we can add to the over 124 laps led so far this season. Let’s keep pushing team!”
