Gottsacker and Wickens WIN at CTMP

Gottsacker and Wickens Victorious at CTMP

  • First victory for Harry Gottsacker and Robert Wickens as co-drivers

  • First IMSA TCR victory for Robert Wickens since July 2, 2022 at CTMP and his second at his home track. It was Wicken’s first time taking the race winning checkered flag from the cockpit since returning to racing after his IndyCar accident and driving with hand controls. Wickens was the starting driver in his previous two IMPC victories.

  •  First IMSA TCR victory for Harry Gottsacker since June 14, 2022, at Mid-Ohio

  • Gottsacker and Wickens won the 2023 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in their first season co-driving without scoring a victory. They finished second in five races and third twice en-route to the title.

  • Gottsacker started from the pole position. Earlier today he earned his 10th IMPC pole position, extending his own IMPC TCR series record

  • The #33 Elantra N TCR led 35 laps today earning $3500 for the local children’s hospital as Hyundai is donating $100 for every lap led by a Hyundai in 2024, totaling $15,900 so far in 2024

  •  The #33 Elantra N TCR had a new Engineer and Strategist starting this weekend at CTMP. Veteran race engineer Mark Weida made his debut this weekend with pole position and a race win.
  • BHA drivers Preston Brown and Denis Dupont finished third in the #76 Elantra N TCR, scoring their fourth podium finish since joining the team this season.

Harry Gottsacker: “This was huge, for Rob and me to finally get our first win together is awesome and the monkey is off our back. We can go forward from here; we were really fast, and everyone hit their marks and that is what happens when you put it all together. Thank you Hyundai and BHA, everyone killed it today!”

Robert Wickens: “So far CTMP has been quite kind to me with two wins and a second place. Harry drove an amazing opening stint, he took care of the tires and put me in a position where I didn’t have to save fuel at the end of the race. We got fortunate with the #17 and their issues, but we’ll take it. Great job to our new engineer Mark he’s one-for-one, that’s a pretty good stat! Our Hyundai Elantra N TCR car was fast, and the BHA boys and girls nailed it today.”
