BROWNSBURG, Ind. — July 8, 2026 — Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports delivered a resilient sixth-place LMP2 finish in Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, overcoming a chaotic, caution-heavy race at Watkins Glen International to preserve valuable championship momentum heading into the Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
The No. 52 InPwr Inc ORECA 07-Gibson, driven by Misha Goikhberg, Parker Thompson and Harry Tincknell, showed its strongest competitive form of the season at the high-speed New York circuit. The team led laps, ran among the LMP2 frontrunners and demonstrated the pace to contend for a podium throughout the six-hour event.
But Watkins Glen’s race was defined by repeated incidents and yellow flags that continually reshaped the strategy. The No. 52 crew navigated the changing conditions, traffic and multiple strategy cycles while remaining in contention. A late power-steering issue and a strategic setback ultimately prevented the team from converting its pace into the result it had been targeting.
Still, the sixth-place finish marked another step forward for the program. The No. 52 team and its drivers remain firmly within the top 10 of the LMP2 championship standings as the season enters a crucial summer stretch.
Ricky Taylor Joins the No. 52 for Canadian Tire Motorsport Park
The team now turns its focus north of the border for the Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, held July 10–12 in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada.
Ricky Taylor will join Goikhberg in the No. 52 InPwr Inc ORECA 07-Gibson for the CTMP round, filling in for Tincknell and Thompson as both fulfill FIA World Endurance Championship commitments that weekend. Taylor’s appearance is limited to the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park event.
The fast, flowing 2.459-mile, 10-turn circuit, commonly known as Mosport, will provide a different format and challenge from Watkins Glen. With LMP2 serving as the premier prototype category at CTMP, the No. 52 will compete for overall honors in the two-hour, 40-minute race.
Goikhberg heads to his home race encouraged by a productive pre-event test, while Taylor brings extensive prototype experience and prior history with both the circuit and PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports.
#52 Driver Perspectives
Misha Goikhberg
“At Watkins Glen, we were the most competitive we’ve been so far and had the pace to fight for a podium, but unfortunately it was not meant to be.
It’s a home race for me, and the track is very fast and high-commitment. Ricky and I raced each other here in the past, and we both feel like we let a win slip away from us, so it would be a nice way to cap it off and win. It’s also exciting to be competing for an overall. We had a very good test, and we feel ready for the challenge. Navigating traffic is also going to be an interesting endeavor.”
Ricky Taylor
“I am very excited to join BHA/PR1 for the CTMP round! I have always been a fan of PR1 since I raced in F2000, so I will do my best to fill in for Harry while he is away. Teaming up with Misha will be a great pairing. We actually shared the front row at CTMP in 2017 and had a great race.”
Parker Thompson
“Not quite the result we were aiming for at Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. With yellow flags stacking up all afternoon, our strategy never quite found the alignment it needed. The No. 52 showed good performance, and even led the field at times, but sixth place at the checkered flag isn’t the result that we came for.
I’ll be in São Paulo for the World Endurance Championship when the team heads north of the border to CTMP in two weeks. Best of luck to everyone there. I look forward to rejoining the group at Road America at the end of July.”
Harry Tincknell
“The Glen was a good race for the team. We were one of the fastest cars on track, and I was able to make some nice overtakes. It was great to see Parker in the lead.
Unfortunately, we had one strategy error that sent us to the back and a power-steering gremlin at the end that cost us a place, but it was a good weekend from everyone. The track is similar in speed to CTMP, and we had a good car, so I’m sure they will go well there.”
Leadership Perspectives
Bryan Herta, President — Bryan Herta Autosport
“Watkins Glen provided another milestone for our group, with substantial laps led in the race and a decent finish at the end. We are looking forward to welcoming Ricky Taylor to the team for the CTMP round to fill in for Harry Tincknell & Parker Thompson as they fulfill their WEC commitments that weekend, and we hope to continue the forward progress and momentum we’ve been building this season.”
Bobby Oergel, Team Principal — PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports
“The Glen never disappoints in terms of stress or impress. The drivers and crew did a great job to put us in a position for a strong podium finish. Sadly, an issue with Mission Control cost us that podium.
Moving to Mosport, we’re excited to welcome Ricky Taylor to the team as Harry and Parker will not be able to join us for the event. We’re really looking forward to working with Ricky given his experience at this track and event.”
