FAST FACTS:

Fast Now First: Since becoming co-drivers in 2023, Harry Gottsacker and Robert Wickens have achieved ten podiums consisting of 6 second and 4 third place finishes along with a series title before getting their first win! The pair won two weeks ago at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. For Wickens, it was his first time taking the winning checkers from the driver’s seat since his return to racing with hand controls.

-20: With two victories and a podium finish at every race this season, Hyundai has tightened the points chase in the manufacturer’s championship. They are just 20 points out of the lead with four races remaining.

Gaining Momentum: Taylor Hagler and Bryson Morris had their best result of the season at CTMP when they finished fourth. It was the second consecutive top-five finish for the pair who are in their first season as co-drivers.

Lightening in the Throttle: The latest episode of “Lightening in the Throttle,” titled “The Mountain Bites Back” was released earlier this week. The Hyundai web series chronicles the IONIQ 5 N Pikes Peak program with Bryan Herta Autosport. The latest episode features the test runs up the mountain and Paul Dallenbach’s harrowing crash. Pole #10: Harry Gottsacker continues to strengthen IMSA’s record for TCR pole positions, as he earned his 10th TCR pole at CTMP. In addition, he is the defending TCR pole winner at Road America. A special place for Harry. The Gottsacker roots go back several generations in the small town of Elkhart Lake.

 

$16k So Far: Hyundai Hope On Wheels  has pledged to donate $100 for every lap a Hyundai Elantra N TCR leads during every race of the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season. The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin will receive the donation based on laps led this weekend at Road America. 2024 Season Tally: $16,000 (Daytona: 12, Sebring: 21, Laguna Seca 23, Mid-Ohio 44, Watkins Glen 22 and CTMP 35).

Harry Gottsacker: “It was great to get back to victory lane at CTMP, but we are ready to push hard for the championship from here on out. We are hungry and want to add some more wins to the tally. Road America is my home track on the IMSA schedule, and we always bring a big crowd out and this weekend will be no different.”

Robert Wickens: “Back to back home races for myself at CTMP and Harry this weekend at Road America. We managed to pick up our first win of the season on my home soil and it would be great if we can double down and get another one for Harry. I love coming to Road America, the atmosphere is one of the best on the calendar. The track is great to drive which makes the whole event really special.”

Denis Dupont:  “I’m excited for the next race at Road America, a challenging track where we aim to continue our podium streak with Preston. Being second in the championship fuels our drive, and we’re ready to give it our all and push for the top spot.”

Taylor Hagler: “CTMP brought us our best finish of the season and we’re looking to finish strong in the last 4 events. Road America is a track that I really enjoy and our Elantra N TCR should be strong in the high-speed corners. We will be pushing hard for a podium and keeping our positive momentum!”
Bryson Morris: “Can’t wait to get going at one of the best tracks on the calendar, Road America! Taylor and I are rolling off our best finish yet of P4 and we know we can’t fight for the win now. Let’s keep up this momentum and break the record once again this weekend.”

at Road America! After a win at Lime Rock Park and a successful test at IMS, momentum is high at BHA, and a great deal of excitement is building to try out the freshly resurfaced Road America. This is one of my favorite circuits on the calendar for its combination of fast corners and hard braking zones. Much of what we know about the track may be different so it will present some new challenges and opportunities that will be fun to work through. Let’s GO!”
