Cindric Finds Success in Seattle for Final Doubleheader Weekend

Seattle, WA (September 11, 2017) Austin Cindric brought home Bryan Herta Rallysport’s best finish of the 2017 season in his first Supercar competition this weekend in Seattle, WA. As one of youngest competitors, the 19-year-old challenged previous Red Bull Global Rallycross winners and championship contenders in the #19 Proline Tailgating/Fitzgerald Glider Kit M-Sport car throughout the entire weekend. A punctured tire relegated Cindric to an eighth-place finish in Round 10, but he bounced back to finish fourth in the Round 11 Final on Sunday.

In Saturday’s Round 10, Cindric qualified fifth in the fast six, placed fourth in Heat 1B, second in Heat 2B, fifth in Heat 3B and third in Semifinal B. For the Final, the rookie was running in the top six before a punctured tire forced the #19 car to retire early and finish eighth.

Sunday’s Round 11 Final saw the rookie’s best passes of the weekend. He quickly moved up four positions in three laps then battled with rallycar veterans to finish in fourth place. Prior to the Final, Cindric qualified fifth, placed fifth in Heat 1B, fourth in Heat 2B, and fifth in Semifinal B.

“I went from knowing about 10% of what I needed to know this weekend to really capitalizing every situation in the second round of the weekend.” Said Cindric. “I have to thank all the guys at Bryan Herta Rallysport because they got me up to speed fast. We made the right adjustments on the Proline Tailgating/ Fitzgerald Glider Kit car to put me in a position to be competitive and we were right behind the two factory efforts. I think we got the most out of today, ran some smart races, and had a lot of fun. I’m proud to get the best finish for the team. They really deserve it. Hopefully, Cabot and these guys will have an awesome round in LA.”

“Austin did amazing all weekend for us,” said Team Owner, Bryan Herta. “He hopped into the car with no testing and short notice. And he showed a ton of maturity on Sunday against the very best rallycross drivers in the country. It was great working with Austin along with Proline Tailgating and Fitzgerald Gliderkits. We wish him the very best of luck as he enters playoff days of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.”
